Ultrasound/Doppler

We Bulk-bill all eligible ultrasound and doppler examinations. We use the latest
equipment, offering fast appointments, fast results, easy parking and great service!

All practices in the Oz Radiology Group are able to perform the full range of general ultrasound examinations, as well as most doppler studies, and at no cost to patients who have a current Medicare card (providing Medicare eligibility criteria are met).

We currently provide ultrasound imaging services for hundreds of referring practitioners.

Medicare rules are such that musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations (such as joints, muscles, tendons, lumps etc) attract a Medicare rebate only at our Carindale Radiology practice.
Note that these can also be performed at both Parkview X-Ray and Runaway Bay Radiology, but
attract a modest private fee which is not refundable by Medicare. Unfortunately these are Medicare rules and not ours, so we are unable to change them.
All other examinations are bulk-billed at all practices, including pregnancy.

Our sonography staff are highly trained and very experienced, and like the rest of our team, they are committed to providing the best service possible. Of course they are accredited and registered - so you know you're in good hands!

In addition, all examinations are reviewed by a qualified Diagnostic Radiologist, who provides a written medical opinion of your ultrasound scan.

Appointments...

Appointments are essential for ultrasound, and must be strictly adhered to.
Lateness or failing to follow the preparation correctly may mean your appointment will have to be rescheduled, and you may be charged a service fee.
Failing to arrive at all or cancelling with less than 24 hours notice will result in a cancellation fee of $100 being charged, with no Medicare rebate available - so please help us better serve our patients by turning up on time, and properly prepared.

Patients can either wait for their results (usually available around 20-30 minutes after your examination is completed), or pick them up at another time.
We have also set up electronic result delivery with participating GPs, and so your results are emailed directly to them and straight into your electronic record.

Please note that for privacy reasons, we cannot give out results to patients or doctors over the phone. We can however fax the result to a doctor once we have received a written authority to do so from the patient.
